Children create a commemorative poppy for ANZAC Day and discuss the flowers of Remembrance and the meaning they have today. ANZAC Day, which is celebrated around 25 April each year, is a national day of remembrance for Australians and New Zealanders at home and around the world. ANZAC is the acronym formed from the first letters of the words Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. This day marks the anniversary of the first major military action by Australian and New Zealand soldiers during the First World War in the Gallipoli Peninsula on April 25, 1915.
