While beavers are returning to the region and have in particular chosen to live in the marshes of Fretin, the municipality of Villeneuve d'Ascq wishes to act to promote its return under the best conditions by planting willow and poplar trees on identified areas. The inhabitants of Villeneuve d'Ascq are invited to participate in these participatory plantations.
