What is a belfry? It is an old defensive wooden tower. In Armentières, it was repeatedly destroyed and always rebuilt, in wood and brick. Its last architect is Louis-Marie Cordonnier. He managed to make it look great after the destruction of 1914-1918. To admire a breathtaking panorama, just follow the guide and climb about 200 steps.
