MEG's Sunday films continue for another season, focusing on three essential and topical themes: identity, gender and sustainability.
Documentary, fiction and animated films addressing these themes are shown free of charge in the Museum's Auditorium on several Sundays each month.
Once again, MEG is partnering the Green Film Festival for a screening.
Film: The Parralel Currents, by Pablo Chavanel, 68mn, France.
The proliferation of hydroelectric dams on the Mekong River, designed to supply energy to neighbouring megalopolises, is forcing Samnang, the leader of an indigenous community, to fight for his survival and that of nature. Faced with pressure from the authorities, Samnang is prepared to take any risk.
Meanwhile, in the Cambodian capital, Sothy, a painter and survivor of the Khmer Rouge genocide, applies himself to the duty of remembrance and, through his art, reveals a violence that seems to be repeating itself.

Les ciné-dimanches du MEG continuent pour une saison autour de trois notions essentielles et actuelles: l'identité, le genre et la durabilité.
Des films documentaires, des fictions et des films d'animation abordant ces thématiques sont projetés gratuitement dans l'Auditorium du Musée plusieurs dimanches par mois.
Une nouvelle année, le MEG s'associe au festival du Film Vert pour une projection.
Film : Les Courants Parralèles, de Pablo Chavanel, 68mn, France.
Visant à nourrir en énergie les mégalopoles voisines, la multiplication des barrages hydroélectriques sur le fleuve Mékong oblige Samnang, chef d'une communauté autochtone, à lutter pour sa survie et celle de la nature. Face à la pression des autorités, Samnang est prêt à prendre tous les risques.
Pendant ce temps dans la capitale cambodgienne, Sothy, artiste-peintre survivant du génocide khmer rouge, s'applique à un devoir de mémoire et révèle à travers son art une violence qui semble se répéter.
