Three different musical worlds are honored by the orchestra, led by Bar Avni, winner of the 3rd edition of the La Maestra competition. First of all, a tribute to the French composer Louise Farrenc, whose Symphony No. 3 in G minor was acclaimed by critics and the Parisian public from its premiere in 1849. Farrenc handles it with great expressiveness and restraint, where the colors of the orchestra echo the great masters such as Mozart or Beethoven. The dramatic intensity comes with the contemporary composer Bryce Dessner and the power of his Aheym «back home» in Yiddish, a work he dedicates to his grandparents, Jews from Western Europe who immigrated to the United States. Finally, it is Mozart’s famous Symphony No. 40 that will close this program in apotheosis. Considered the most tragic of his symphonies, the composer signs an ambiguous work, full of anxieties, which resonates like a catharsis of his own demons.

Trois univers musicaux différents sont mis à l’honneur par l’orchestre, emmené par la cheffe Bar Avni, lauréate de la 3ème édition du concours La Maestra. Hommage tout d’abord à la compositrice française Louise Farrenc dont la Symphonie n°3 en sol mineur est saluée par la critique et le public parisien dès sa première en 1849. Farrenc y manie avec brio expressivité et retenue, où les couleurs de l’orchestre font écho aux grands maîtres tels que Mozart ou Beethoven. L’intensité dramatique se décline avec le compositeur contemporain Bryce Dessner et la puissance de son Aheym « retour à la maison » en yiddish, œuvre qu’il dédie à ses grands-parents, juifs d’Europe occidentale immigrés aux États-Unis. Enfin, c’est la célébrissime Symphonie n°40 de Mozart qui clôturera en apothéose ce programme. Considérée comme la plus tragique de ses symphonies, le compositeur signe une œuvre ambigüe, empreinte d’angoisses, qui résonne comme une catharsis de ses propres démons.

Drie verschillende muzikale werelden worden geëerd door het orkest, onder leiding van Bar Avni, winnaar van de 3e editie van de La Maestra competitie. Allereerst een eerbetoon aan de Franse componist Louise Farrenc, wiens symfonie nr. 3 in G minor vanaf zijn première in 1849 door critici en het Parijse publiek werd geprezen. Farrenc handelt het met grote expressiviteit en terughoudendheid, waar de kleuren van het orkest de grote meesters zoals Mozart of Beethoven weerspiegelen. De dramatische intensiteit komt met de hedendaagse componist Bryce Dessner en de kracht van zijn Aheym «thuis» in het Jiddisch, een werk dat hij wijdt aan zijn grootouders, Joden uit West-Europa die naar de Verenigde Staten emigreerden. Tot slot is het de beroemde Symphony No. 40 van Mozart die dit programma in apotheose zal sluiten. De componist wordt beschouwd als de meest tragische van zijn symfonieën en tekent een dubbelzinnig werk, vol angsten, dat resoneert als een catharsis van zijn eigen demonen.
