Presentation of the exhibition

From Prehistory to the Enlightenment, from Asnapio to the metro, from the Middle Ages to the Second World War, discover the historical, cultural and environmental riches of a «new» city with several millennia of history.
A journey through time through the presentation of many archaeological objects from excavations on the territory of Villeneuvois during the construction of the new city. Some of these remarkable objects made available by the Ministry of Culture under the aegis of Inrap (National Institute for Preventive Archaeological Research) are also on display for the first time!
The journey through time continues with objects from the Musée du Terroir, the Memorial Ascq 1944 and the Museum of the Château de Flers but also private lenders or the Historical Society of Villeneuve d'Ascq.
Some objects also evoke the more recent past of the city, a breeding ground for technological and environmental innovations.
The exhibition is organized in partnership with Inrap and the Historical Society of Villeneuve d'Ascq.
