Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 September 2019, the Open Air Museum celebrates the European Heritage Days. For two days, many artisans will be present to present their expertise and exchange with visitors… and of course, admission will be free for all!
To note: the official inauguration of the Maison du Torchis and the Moulin de Vaudricourt on Saturday at 11am in the presence of members of the Association Monique Teneur, the insertion house Formation Culture and Prevention of the MEL and many personalities.
For the European Heritage Days, the Open Air Museum of Villeneuve d'Ascq will live this Saturday at 11am two great moments: the inauguration of the Maison du Torchis and the Moulin de Vaudricourt. Throughout the weekend, the Museum will highlight its resident artisans: puppeteer Cécile Jastrzembski, stained glass artist Claudine Levant, songwriter Raymond Surmont, wood turner Denys Losfeld, the blacksmith Valentin Mieze and the blacksmiths of Zèle Fer will be present in their workshops to work under the eyes of the public, exchange with young and old and to make discover their know-how.
In parallel, several guests will be gathered in the Grange d'Esquelbecq: textile designer Fée Bulle, tin maker Didier Delitte, cabinetmaker and furniture designer Patrice Caron, upholsterer Audrey Becquart, chocolatier Alain Hubert, ceramist Marie Debruyne, upholsterer Emilie Poteau and illustrator Tom Haidopoulo.
On Saturday at 3 p.m., in the central part of the aumale stable, Philippe Tabary will speak for a conference on bread, an unloved food…
Finally, many events await young and old: guided tours, walks «small farmers» for children, workshops for creating mini mills with the family, tales, exhibitions on bread and flour processing. Two millers will turn the mill and make visits during the two days. An apprentice will run the bakery. So many highlights that will help make the heritage of the rebuilt village more alive than ever!
On Saturday, September 21 at 11am the official inauguration of the Maison du Torchis created by the services of the MEL and the FCP insertion house according to the traditional technical processes and the new Moulin de Vaudricourt, dating from the 18th century. An event that will be held in the presence of members of the Association Monique Teneur, safeguarding rural heritage, the insertion house Formation Culture and Prevention of the MEL and many personalities! Guided tours will follow the inauguration.
