Convent of the Ursulines from 1647 until the French Revolution, the buildings then knew various uses: administrative services of the foundry of guns, major seminary, primary school higher then technical school. After the transfer of the schools in the Banlay district, the architect Denis Froidevaux adapted the place in 1983 to install the municipal library and the national school of music.
The building, of a classical style very sober, spreads out in three wings around a courtyard and presents an elevation to four levels with the large semicircular arcades of the cloister, two floors and an attic pierced by dormers, the last two levels were added in the 19th century. The courtyard of the cloister was covered with a glass roof in order to enjoy this vast space. The originality of this light three-dimensional structure, a glass pyramid with changing reflections, calls the eye, prompts him to discover this high place of culture.
