This year, ASL is delighted to welcome the Hydromondes collective and its exhibition Léman être vivant to Espace Léman.
About the exhibition
Lake Geneva and its waters support the lives of around one million people every day (and several million more downstream). Situated at the intersection of multiple divides—hydrological, historical, geological, cultural, and more—Lake Geneva is a truly unique aquatic body. By listening to the lake and paying attention to its wisdom and its challenges, the entire Lake Geneva region is brought into a new perspective.
This exhibition presents the results of a two-year interdisciplinary field investigation. Through dialogue with local residents and people working in and around water-related issues, a collection of visual and narrative works has been created. These works offer proposals and experiments for taking stock of the state of the region’s waters and collectively imagining their possible futures.
About the Hydromondes collective
At the intersection of art, science, and activism, the Hydromondes collective conducts bioregional investigations into water—its uses, infrastructures, and imaginaries—always in connection with territories and the people who inhabit them.
The collective brings together people from diverse backgrounds, including architecture, theatre, hydrology, popular education, landscape design, biology, music, ethnography, and engineering sciences. By combining their expertise and perspectives, they create ecologically and socially grounded representations of the places we live.

Cette année, l'ASL a le plaisir d'accueillir le collectif Hydromondes et son exposition Léman être vivant à l'Espace Léman
Présentation de l'exposition
Le Léman et ses eaux soutiennent la vie d’un bon million de personnes chaque jour (et de plusieurs autres millions en aval). Situé sur de multiples lignes de partage (hydrographiques, historiques, géologiques, culturelles…), le Léman est un corps aquatique bien singulier. En nous mettant à son écoute – à la hauteur de ses sagesses et de ses problèmes – c’est tout le territoire lémanique qui s’en trouve redessiné.
Cette exposition rend compte des résultats d’une enquête de terrain transdisciplinaire menée pendant deux ans. Par le dialogue avec les habitant·es et les act·rices de l’eau au sens large, un ensemble de créations plastiques et narratives sont réalisées. Elles sont des propositions, des expérimentations pour un état des lieux des eaux, et pour imaginer collectivement leurs devenirs.
Présentation du collectif Hydromondes
À la croisée des arts, des sciences et des résistances, le collectif Hydromondes mène des enquêtes biorégionales sur l’eau (ses usages, ses infrastructures et ses imaginaires) – toujours en lien avec les territoires et leurs habitant·es. Nous venons d’horizons différents : architecture, théâtre, hydrologie, éducation populaire, paysagisme, biologie, musique, ethnographie, sciences de l’ingénieur… En mettant en commun nos savoir-faire et nos visions, nous créons des représentations écologiquement et socialement justes des lieux de vie.
