As part of its strategic reorientation, MEG has undertaken a decolonial process and wishes to reorient its museological strategy.
A series of conferences is proposed to provide insights into this issue. Fabio Rossinelli, historian, author of "Geographical societies and Swiss imperialism in the 19th century: an overview and two representative examples" will dialogue with Floriane Morin, curator at MEG, member of the "The Swiss Benin Initiative - research and dialogue with Nigeria". The links between the development of Swiss museum collections and the colonial context will be discussed.
Speakers Floriane Morin, curator resp. dpt Africa, MEG, Genève ; Fabio Rossinelli, research scientist, Università della Svizzera italiana, Lugano
