Sunday Movie Kids: Mia et le Migou
As part of the temporary exhibition Environmental Injustice - Indigenous Alternatives, which runs until 21 August 2022, the Kids Sunday Movie is back! Animated films for families about the climate emergency and the impact of environmental change will be screened throughout the exhibition.
Mia is a little girl of barely ten years old. Alerted by a premonition, she decides to leave her native village somewhere in South America to look for her father. Her father is working on a gigantic project to transform a tropical forest into a luxury hotel complex. It's a long way to find her father. Mia has to cross a remote mountain surrounded by an enigmatic forest and populated by mysterious beings...
The Migous' struggle to preserve the local ecosystem, which is being disrupted by a mega-hotel construction project, is reminiscent of the struggles of several indigenous peoples, such as the Amazigh community of Imider in south-eastern Morocco or the Xikrin people of Catete, in the Brazilian Amazon, who can be discovered in the exhibition "Environmental Injustice, Indigenous Alternatives".
Film only in French.
