Château Lamothe-Bergeron : Open House
On the occasion of the Médoc châteaux open house, Château Lamothe-Bergeron once again offers you an immersion into the past, to the origins of the estate in the Middle Ages!
At the time, the property was called "Château Lamothe", a seigneury of Cussac, owned by the Captal de Buch. It is said that "when he became a prisoner of Duguesclin, the Captal sold ten harvests of his wine, highly valued by the English who occupied Bordeaux at the time, to pay the heavy ransom demanded of him.
On Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd April 2023, Les Fines Lames du Médoc will set up their medieval camp in the château grounds for the weekend. You will wander between the tents dedicated to lords, knights or soldiers, kitchen, combat licea and weapons and pillory areas. The days will be punctuated by tournaments and fights in armour, initiation to archery (axe throwing, shooting with longbow, horsebow and medieval arrows) and presentations of the camp and its weapons.
Throughout the weekend, you will also be able to meet and discover about fifteen local producers and creators selected by Belinda Events: leather goods, honey, canning, pottery, soaps, medieval jewellery, ceramics and many others.
And finally, Olivier will be present with his Food Truck O'Krep to treat us to his delicious Breton pancakes and galettes.

Château Lamothe-Bergeron : Portes Ouvertes
A l’occasion des portes ouvertes des châteaux du Médoc, le Château Lamothe-Bergeron vous propose encore une fois une immersion dans le passé, aux origines de la propriété en plein Moyen-Age !
A l’époque, la propriété s’appelait « Château Lamothe », une seigneurie de Cussac, possession du captal de Buch. On dit d’ailleurs que « devenu prisonnier de Duguesclin, le Captal vendit par anticipation dix récoltes de son vin, très estimé des Anglais qui occupaient alors Bordeaux, pour payer la lourde rançon qu’on exigeait de lui. »
Les samedi 1er et dimanche 2 avril 2023, Les Fines Lames du Médoc installeront leur campement médiéval dans le parc du château pour le week-end. Vous déambulerez entre les tentes dédiées aux seigneurs, chevaliers ou soldats, cuisine, lice de combat et espaces d’armes et pilori. Les journées seront ponctuées de tournois et combats en armures, d’initiation à l’archerie (lancer de hache, tir avec des longbow, horsebow et flèches médiévales) et de présentations du campement et de ses armes.
Tout le week-end, vous pourrez également rencontrer et découvrir une quinzaine de producteurs et créateurs locaux sélectionnés par Belinda événementiel : maroquinerie, miel, conserveries, poterie, savons, bijoux médiévaux, céramiques et bien d’autres.
Et enfin, Olivier sera présent avec son Food Truck O’Krep pour nous régaler de ses délicieuses crêpes et galettes bretonnes.
