Tribute to Marcel Dieulafoy, famous archaeologist, former Mayor of Pompertuzat. Reminder of the 2016 exhibition dedicated to Jane Dieulafoy, his wife, famous writer, photographer and archaeologist.

  • Exhibition: Tribute to Marcel DIEULAFOY, famous archaeologist, former Mayor of POMPERTUZAT. Reminder of the 2016 exhibition dedicated to Jane DIEULAFOY, his wife, famous writer, photographer and archaeologist. The exhibition focuses on this inseparable couple who did an exceptional work of memory in Persia, in Susa from where they brought back in particular the Friesland of the Archers, the capitals of the palace of Darius, the Friesland of the Lions, and many others. A room in the Louvre was even dedicated to them, and their work is also studied abroad, especially in Iran.

Church of Saint-André-Saint-Cloud, from the sixteenth century, perched on the right of the village, with its wall bell tower. Restored in the nineteenth century by the painters Pedoya. Listed in the Inventory of Historic Monuments since 1973\. Restored identically between 1998 and 2001\. Place of worship in the parish of Castanet.

Access: Coming from the D 813 (former N 113) take Rue Valette (direction Corronsac), then turn left, Rue Garoche, then right Rue Jane Dieulafoy in direction of the road to Corronsac. The church is on the right. To park by car, continue leaving the church on the right: continue about 50 m until the parking lot which is on the right, behind the church and at the edge of the cemetery. Bus to Castanet.
