Except for the church built in the XIIth century, the buildings(ships) of Arville do not date the period of the Templars, but the period during which Commanderie raised(found) Knights of Malta. Having sold as very national in Revolution, they were kept(preserved) in their entirety; only was destroyed the home of the Commander and of the Knights, located in the location of the current parsonage. It is difficult to date these buildings(ships) with certainty because they underwent reorganisations over the centuries. The most old(former) appear be both tours(ballots) framing(supervising) the entry porch which can go back up(raise) to the XVth century or at the beginning of the XVIth century, the hall itself being undoubtedly of origin. All constructions surround a large irregular court(yard). The Commanderie d' Arville stays, by the importance of the existent buildings(ships), an unique(only) set(group) and the commanderie best kept(preserved) by France.
Divided into four squares of plantation, the garden presents to the visitors a hundred of plants used in the Middle Ages: edible, curative, utilitarian plants or else plants of the fields which were cultivated on a large scale. Each of these plants evokes the everyday life(daily paper) of the medieval company(society) and its faiths.
