Visits to Buffon Park

Former botanical garden built by Buffon in the 18th century.

Musée Buffon / Xavier Spertini

The archeology of the gardens and the historical studies have made it possible to identify a large number of plant species, for North American part and to better understand how Buffon built his park on the ruins of the former castle of the dukes of Burgundy. We will also learn how Buffon experimented in Montbard and then implanted the plants in the King’s Garden, now the Garden of Plants.
