The UPLOAD Biennial is a meeting space dedicated to showcasing contemporary graphic design. Organized by the Municipality of Plan-les-Ouates in collaboration with the Visual Communication Department of HEAD - Geneva, this new cultural event in French-speaking Switzerland affirms a shared desire to support local creativity and anchor graphic design culture in the region.
For its first edition, from October 4 to November 7, 2025, UPLOAD is celebrating graphic design in French-speaking Switzerland. Through conferences, workshops, and an exhibition featuring some thirty projects from French-speaking Switzerland, the Biennial offers a panorama of contemporary graphic design. Six categories provide insight into this thriving creative sector, at the intersection of print culture and digital practices: cultural identity, publishing, font design, signage/scenography, branding, and cross-disciplinary projects. The Biennale is aimed at both professionals in the field and a wider audience, curious to understand what lies behind a poster, a book cover, a typographic character, or a spatial orientation system. By highlighting graphic practices, UPLOAD aims to promote designers, while opening a dialogue on the role and future of the profession: where is the graphic design profession today? What are its challenges, its changes, its urgent needs?
