"Spring 2021. The small theater of La Huchette in Paris having suffered from the Covid closure organizes every Monday a carte blanche to supporting personalities. I too was asked, accepted, and thought, rather than a song recital, to do a reading of the sensual poems of Alice Mendelson, a friend of my father. Alice Mendelson, 97 years old today, long-lived poet. Texts that his storyteller friend Pascal Quéré spoke to me about, dating from 1947 to today, singing the passion for life, love, men, colors, moments, words...
I ask Mauro Gioia, singer, actor, director, to keep an eye and an ear. We need music, he tells me, it’s vital! It’s Grégoire Hetzel, with whom Mauro has made several creations, pianist, film score composer, who will be on stage with me. Some poetry will be sung. It is a success ! We decide to continue it. A few dates here and there... Auxerre, Fontainebleau... In Capri in the summer of 2022, in Italian based on a translation by the poet Igor Esposito. Alice Mendelson was born in 1925 in Longlaville, to Polish Jewish revolutionary parents, both hairdressers. She always wrote but never dared to consider publishing until the age of 95 when the enthusiasm triggered by her creations provoked this recital by Catherine Ringer and the publication of a collection by Editions Rhubarbe.

« Printemps 2021. Le petit théâtre de La Huchette à Paris ayant souffert de la fermeture Covid organise tous les lundis une carte blanche à des personnalités en soutien. Je suis moi aussi sollicitée, accepte, et pense, plutôt qu’un récital chanson, faire une lecture des poésies sensuelles d’Alice Mendelson, une amie de mon père. Alice Mendelson, 97 ans aujourd’hui, poétesse au long court. Des textes dont m’avait parlé son ami conteur Pascal Quéré, datant de 1947 à aujourd’hui, chantant la passion de la vie, de l’amour, des hommes, des couleurs, des instants, des mots…
Je demande à Mauro Gioia, chanteur, acteur, metteur en scène, de faire l’œil et l’oreille. Il faut de la musique me dit-il, c’est vital ! C’est Grégoire Hetzel, avec lequel Mauro a fait plusieurs créations, pianiste, compositeur de musiques de films, qui sera sur scène avec moi. Certaines poésies seront chantées. C’est un succès ! On décide de le continuer. Quelques dates, par-ci par-là… Auxerre, Fontainebleau… À Capri à l’été 2022, en italien sur une traduction du poète Igor Esposito. Alice Mendelson naît en 1925 à Longlaville, de parents juifs révolutionnaires polonais tous deux coiffeurs. Elle a toujours écrit mais n’a jamais osé envisager de publier jusqu’à l’âge de 95 ans où l’enthousiasme que déclenche ses créations provoque ce récital de Catherine Ringer et d’une publication d’un recueil aux éditions Rhubarbe.
