Imagine arriving for the first time in one of the world's northernmost cities during the polar night. You'll completely lose your bearings. Magnificent landscapes, hypnotic lights, sub-zero temperatures—this constant night plunges you into a contemplative, meditative state when suddenly everything changes...
Near the Arctic Circle, as winter approaches, the sun disappears for 40 days. A long, 960-hour night begins... Part documentary, part fiction, we delve into the heart of the polar night of the Far North, facing climate change, and following in the footsteps of one of Europe's last indigenous peoples: the Sami. Through legends whispered by the snow and ice, the show explores the intense and rich life that manifests beneath the Northern Lights. This introspective and political journey reveals the beauty and fragility of these lands and their inhabitants. Accustomed for several years to collective creations and "spectacular" scenographies, particularly intended for public spaces, Jennifer Anderson here tells her story in a bare voice. She reconnects with the strength and simplicity of orality and invites the spectator on an immediate journey from the very first word.

Imaginez, vous arrivez pour la première fois dans une des villes la plus au nord du monde pendant la nuit polaire. Perte totale de vos repères. Paysages grandioses, lumières hypnotiques, températures négatives, cette nuit constante vous plonge dans un état contemplatif, méditatif quand brusquement tout bascule…
Près du cercle polaire, à l’approche de l’hiver, le soleil disparaît pendant 40 jours. Une longue nuit de 960 heures commence… Entre récit documentaire et fiction, nous plongeons au cœur de la nuit polaire du Grand Nord, face aux bouleversements climatiques, sur les traces de l’un des derniers peuples indigènes d’Europe : les Samis. À travers les légendes chuchotées par la neige et la glace, le spectacle explore la vie intense et riche qui se manifeste sous les aurores boréales. Ce voyage introspectif et politique révèle la beauté et la fragilité de ces terres et de leurs habitants.
Habituée depuis plusieurs années à des créations collectives, aux scénographies “spectaculaires”, destinées notamment à l’espace public, Jennifer Anderson raconte ici à voix nue. Elle renoue avec la force et simplicité de l’oralité et convie le spectateur à un voyage immédiat dès le premier mot.
