Jeanne and Marie—one a student craving adventure, the other a saleswoman—are on their way to her rural hometown. They meet while hitchhiking in French-speaking Switzerland and decide to continue the journey together. But soon, they are attacked by two men, fight back fiercely, and are forced to flee. Another adventure begins. Now armed with a gun, they “play” at being criminals and flee further and further away. But how far can they go? Where does Switzerland end? How can they truly save themselves?
Directed by a masterful filmmaker, the film has all the ingredients of a crime thriller. But beyond that, it is above all a fable, a feminist road movie, a radical tale of rejection of the social order, and a critique of narrow-minded Swiss society. A thrilling and provocative Thelma and Louise, well ahead of its time…

Jeanne et Marie, l’une étudiante en mal d’aventure, l’autre vendeuse, en chemin vers sa campagne natale. Elles se rencontrent en faisant de l’autostop en Suisse romande et décident de poursuivre la route ensemble. Mais bientôt, elles se font agresser par deux hommes, se défendent violemment et doivent s’échapper. Une autre aventure débute. Désormais munies d’un pistolet, elles “ jouent ” les criminelles et fuient toujours plus loin. Mais jusqu’où peuvent-elles aller ? Quel est le bout de la Suisse ? Comment se sauver vraiment ?
Dirigé par un cinéaste magistral, le film emporte tous les ingrédients de la fiction policière. Mais au-delà, il est surtout une fable, un road-movie féministe, un récit radical du refus de l’ordre social et une critique de la société helvète à l’esprit étriqué. Un Thelma et Louise palpitant et dénonciateur, bien avant l’heure…
