"Gurs, banality of evil?", a documentary directed by Pierre Vidal
Screening followed by a debate, organized by the association Terres de mémoires et de luttes.
Have we learned the lessons of the tragedy of the camp of Gurs, long forgotten and erased from memory? Does the concept of "banality of evil", developed by the philosopher Hannah Arendt, herself interned in this camp, allow us to better understand this tragedy?
The aim is not to provide a ready-made answer, but to shed light on and nourish a debate with strong contemporary resonances.
