Während drei Studentinnen aus Kansas die wahre Geschichte dieser Heldin erforschen, ruft Irena die Geister ihrer Vergangenheit herbei. Sie setzt die Bruchstücke einer verblassenden Erinnerung wieder zusammen, damit das Unvorstellbare für immer eingebrannt bleibt.
