At the initiative of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region and thanks to its support and that of the State, MÉCA is the meeting of the Frac and the regional cultural agencies ALCA and OARA.
This common house, closest to artistic creation, brings together artists, authors, producers, directors, visual artists, choreographers, cultural professionals, who come to work and create. It is also a place of discovery and experience for the public, to whom the exhibitions of the Frac and its cultural programming are dedicated.
Just a stone’s throw from the Saint-Jean station in Bordeaux, the crossroads of Nouvelle-Aquitaine, this architectural gesture, signed BIG, the agency of the Danish architect Bjarke Ingels, associated with Freaks, is thought of as a place for artists and public, an artistic hive where art is made and lived.
Inscribed on its territory, the building plays between the inside and the outside with a panoramic terrace, a lobby where is housed the restaurant CREM, and an urban room to su
