The gardens of Arpaillan form a bucolic setting in the 16th century castle located in the Entre-deux-Mers. The rampart of the building overlooks a shady valley where streams of white water wind their banks brightened by collections of tropical ferns, japonica acers, astilbes, hostas, as well as groves of hydrangeas and heather plants. It is a real haven of peace for dragonflies. On the front of the castle, the landscape differs completely. The shade gives way to the light. Here, the shimmering colors of rose beds, iris, peonies and other perennials, punctuated with boxwood cut in topiary, illuminate a vast grassy esplanade. In the background, stand out on a grove of conifers and century-old trees, a chapel and a falconer.
