Built by Jean-François Catherin Tricalet de Taxenne, the castle is the residence of the fields of this Franc-Comtoise family established in Dole and ennobled by Louis XIV in 1699.
In the 18th century, the Parc de Taxenne is a vineyard built around a vegetable garden. At the end of the 19th century, the vineyard disappeared. The park was enlarged to reach its current surface. Entirely replanted it becomes a garden of pleasure articulated around the vestiges of the past century.
Today’s visit allows you to immerse yourself in this rural past: the terrace dominates the old parterres now lined with remarkable centuries-old trees that are the Giant Sequoïas, Virginia Tulip, Gingko Biloba and other Pinsapo.
