Real jewel of Pays d'Auge located close to Lisieux, the Castle - museum of Saint German de Livet, classified as "Historic Monument", is remarkable for its architecture of the XVth and XVIth centuries. Surrounded with staves(moats), with a full of flowers and sported park, and with animals in freedom, the Castle-museum presents the collections of the family Riesener-Pillaut, possessing private the last one of places. Conjugating furniture and works of art, the inside manifests refinement and lifestyle in the XIXth century and suggests discovering the artistic and personal route(course) of the painter Léon Riesener (1808-1878), grandson of the cabinet maker Jean-Henry Riesener and cousin of Eugene Delacroix.
