Domaine de Sentout

- Gironde
- Nouvelle-Aquitaine
This family estate opens its doors as part of the "Rendez-vous au Jardins" to make discover to the public a nourishing landscape (thanks to polyculture) and a preserved natural landscape including wild meadows and forests. The visit will begin with the history of the estate from the 1960s, the botanical evolution over time, from polyculture to monoculture to currently return to polyculture. The vineyard and meadows in production are AB certified. The owners, followers of agroecology, permaculture and Pachamama ("Mother Earth"), will present the different varieties of grapes (in white and red), the biodiversity present in each plot (indicator organic plants and edible wild plants), the important role of hedgerows and varieties present, then the role of trees, in forest and orchards. The importance of peasant seeds, including two plots of old wheat, and the vegetable garden in permaculture, where they are keen to combine vegetables, honey-bearing flowers, aromatic and medicinal.
