The Lycée Louis Gaston Roussillat was the property of the Senators of the Creuse Alphonse Defumade then of Louis Roussillat. They were elected officials committed to the development of the department. Alphonse Defumade, heir to Creusois agricultural estates, planted a rich tree heritage. Today, a weeping beech, a sequoia, a bald cypress, a tulip tree of Virginia and an Abies benefit from a classification process under the title Remarkable Trees.
