Saturday, June 1 in Villa Burba of Rho will host the fourth Marathon of Reading entitled "Words beyond borders" with the aim of promoting reading as a tool to overcome boundaries, be they physical, mental, cultural or linguistic. Overcoming borders is an act of courage and openness to the world, a constant commitment that allows us to grow as individuals and as a society. The park and environments of Villa Burba will host performances, workshops, readings in different languages, games, sensory paths, readings in the dark, show cooking with recipes from around the world, music and meetings with the author. A unique opportunity for dialogue and reflection in a context rich in culture that will allow you to rediscover reading as an educational practice in an engaging and stimulating atmosphere suitable for every age.
Man, by his nature, is a being in continuous evolution, driven by an insatiable desire to discover and overcome his limits. This tension towards the unknown is manifested in the will to break down the barriers that separate us from each other.
With the Reading Marathon, now in its fourth edition, you can experience different ways to overcome borders thanks to a rich and varied program: the event will begin at 9.30 and will end at 20.00 with a literary relay that will feature the readers aloud of the community workshop "Laws that passes you" and the Libraries of the City.
The initiative is part of the project "Reading samples", created to stimulate new readers, promoting the pleasure of reading and creating unconventional and innovative opportunities to experience reading, even in unusual contexts. The project is supported by Fondazione Cariplo and is carried out by the Municipality of Rho together with Consorzio Cooperho altomilanese, Cooperativa Sociale Intrecci, Caminante APS, in collaboration with the Library of Villa Burba, the community welfare network #OltreiPerimetri, Do Differently APS and with CSBNO sponsorship.

The date of completion of this noble residence (1665) is engraved on the fireplace of the homonymous room. Overlooking a road of great communication, it was home to many historical figures, including Count Porro Lambertenghi, turned anti-Habsburg and then the Marquis Giovanni Cornaggia Medici, aristocratic innovator and passionate about agriculture as well as economic and social issues. As was customary at the time of its construction, this noble residence also had a refined and refined garden that contributed a lot to define the beauty of the residence.
The noble Marchesi Cornaggia Medici were able to create a garden full of rare species that still today give the park a suggestive atmosphere.
