The park as it appears today is the result of the stratification of three centuries of history. The original grandiose project is the work of Girolamo Frigimelica. The inspiration for the gardens of Versailles is clear, certainly taken as a model by Alvise Pisani who had been ambassador in France for the Serenissima. The 14 hectares enclosed in the great bend of the Brenta are organized with an articulated geometric composition characterized by a complex scenographic game expression of the grandeur required by the client. The central axis of the composition is of course the median axis of the bend of the river on which is set the strong relationship between the palace on one side and the beautiful stables on the other. The two large parallel avenues that delimit the large central parterre are closed in the background by imposing sculptural groups by the sculptor Giovanni Bonazza. The secondary paths constitute real scenographic perspectives that have as background small and extraordina
