Historical promenade in Levice

The historical pedestrian promenade in Levice, founded during the Austro-Hungarian period at the end of the 19th century, was established with the participation of the Levice Beautification Committee under the leadership of Dr. František Brach. This narrow strip of greenery between the cemetery and the Teacher Training Institute served as a municipal park and promenade. Known as "sétakert," it was a place of relaxation for residents, with exotic greenery and benches lining the pathways. In 2017, a gradual restoration began through the initiative of the Levice Beautification Association with then-president Csaba Tolnai. The promenade was officially opened on May 1, 2023.
