Many fountains are known for their virtues. The fountain called «Notre Dame de la Matelle» in Saint-Ost is one of them. Steeped in local history, this inexhaustible spring once attracted many people. A stele dated 1896 proves the interest of the populations of the time. Little by little forgotten, Christian Anicet and Isabelle Pique undertook to restore the fountain, create a peaceful garden and restore the memory of the site. A pond was dug in the 80s, which is the delight of fish, frogs, dragonflies and also a heron. A natural meadow hosts many insects and especially butterflies. From 2010, the site was reborn and were planted shrubs, trees, plants, flowers, small furniture... Since the first participation in 2021, the adjoining grove has been cleared and is improving year after year.
