Game of the senses: discoveries and wonders at Monte Arci

Sunday, June 2 the Botanical Garden of Monte Arci adheres to the initiative Appointment in the Garden, proposed by APGI-Association Parks and Gardens of Italy, under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture and ANCI-National Association of Italian Municipalities. The initiative was born with the aim of inviting the general public to discover the surprising historical, artistic, botanical and landscape richness of the Italian gardens and the theme chosen for this edition is "The five senses in the garden".
For the occasion, the visit to the Botanical Garden will be divided into five distinct sensory paths: one dedicated to sight, one to touch, one to taste, one to smell and one to hear.
To accompany visitors in the five sensory paths to discover the typical plants of the territory of Monte Arci there will be small exceptional guides represented by children and teenagers of Masullas.
The subdivision of the visit in 5 different paths will allow visitors not only to know the peculiarities of the botanical species present in the Garden, but also to the small guides to learn about the typical plants of the territory having fun, discovering particular curiosities and uses.

The "Botanical Garden of Monte Arci" is an important landmark in terms of conservation, the protection, enhancement and dissemination of some of the most important and significant aspects of a naturalistic area of particular value such as the territory of Monte Arci. Another fundamental objective, of a landscape, cultural and urban planning nature, which is intended to reach with the Botanical Garden is to redevelop and enhance an area of great historical and artistic value belonging to the adjacent former Capuchin Convent (dating back to the seventeenth century), contributing to the creation of an environmental and naturalistic pole of absolute excellence in the regional field. In the same context, in fact, in addition to the Botanical Garden that occupies an area of about 14,000 square meters, there are the geomuseo Monte Arci, the Museum of Natural History AQUILEGIA, large exhibition spaces for the organization of exhibitions and cultural events.
