In June 1927, Madame veuve Henri Terff bequeathed the Cardot Street garden to the city. In 1933, the city transformed the site into a botanical garden. It bears the name of its founder, Jules Cardot, Ardennes scientist specialist in bryology (study of mosses). Antique statue, pergola, basin, you will be charmed by the Renaissance style of this real green island. Close to the city centre, Cardot Square is certainly the most unknown botanical garden because access is not very visible, and yet one of the most beautiful in Charleville-Mézières.
