Garden concert

In keeping with the theme of the 2024 edition of Rendez-vous aux jardins autour des «cinq sens», the Bourdelle Museum celebrates hearing by inviting the public to a musical afternoon under the arcades of the garden. Declined in 3 small concerts around Mathilde Lauridon on violin, Isabelle Dubuis on piano and Florian Lauridon on cello, this musical journey offers the opportunity to discover rare works, as the trio in F# minor inventive and intimate of Joseph Haydn or the unknown figure of Theodor Kirchner, a romantic musician friend of Robert Schumann and Johannes Brahms. The program ends with the masterful 3rd Trio in C minor by Johannes Brahms, whose strength, simplicity and energy evoke the sculpture of Bourdelle. At 15h, 16h and 17h Duration of each concert: 20 min approximately
Program 1 at 3:00 p.m.: Robert Schumann: Six Canon Opus 56 Pieces for Pedal Piano, Transcription for Trio by Theodor Kirchner Program 2 at 4:00 p.m.: Joseph Haydn: Trio in F# minor Hob.XV.26; Theodor Kirchner Novelettes op.59 no. 8, 5 & 7 Program 3 at 5:00 p.m.: Johannes Brahms Trio No. 3 in C minor op.101

À propos du lieu

Jardin du musée Bourdelle
16-18 rue Antoine Bourdelle 75015 Paris
  • Paris
  • Île-de-France
The Bourdelle Museum has three gardens, a haven of rest in the heart of the tumultuous Montparnasse district. From the street, the first garden invites visitors to admire some of Bourdelle’s most emblematic works, including Baigneuse accroupie (1906-1907), Le Fruit (1906-1911), Héraklès archer (1906-1909) and the Monument to General Alvear (1913-1923). The two interior gardens are home to monumental sculptures - The Virgin with the Offering (1919-1922), France (1923-1925) - as well as more confidential, often unknown works - Unfinished Fountain (circa 1899), The Musicians, Czechoslovak Quartet (1916). This assumed heterogeneity responds to the wishes of Bourdelle and his family who wanted to make these gardens green refuges of sculptures, thus patinated by time.
