The Valley-aux-Loups Chateaubriand currently offers a rich cultural and botanical heritage on more than 60 hectares: The Arboretum, former Croux nursery, continues today the horticultural vocation of the place. Unique plant collections of convolvulaceae, alder or hydrangea… have been added to the century-old trees. The Jardin de l'Ile verte, created by the poet Jules Barbier and where the painter Jean Fautrier lived from 1945 to 1964, offers visitors a walk in a "timeless" place, wild and romantic where the atmospheres mix and mix. La Maison de Chateaubriand, where the author lived from 1807 to 1817, and wrote Les Mémoires d'Outre-tombe. Passionate about botany, he introduced rare species to the park that reflected his travels: the Cedar of Lebanon, the bald cypress…
