Originally, Martigny-les-Bains is a typical agricultural village of the region. Life is organized around the land, forests and local traditions. For centuries, the town evolves at the pace of rural activities, in a preserved natural environment.

Everything changes with the development of its thermal springs. Recognized for their therapeutic virtues, they gradually attract visitors and curists.
