Die bis zu zwei Meter lang werdende Äskulapnatter gehört zu den größten Schlangenarten Europas. Ihre glatte, glänzende Oberfläche ist olivbraun und wird zum Schwanz hin dunkler, die Bauchseite erscheint blass gelblich bis grünlich – ein faszinierender Anblick. Die Äskulapnatter ist ungiftig und für den Menschen vollkommen harmlos, jedoch in ihrem Bestand leider gefährdet. Die Führung vermittelt, auch für Kinder, spannende Einblicke in ihre Lebensweise und sensibilisiert für ihren Schutz und Erhalt.

La sua superficie liscia e lucida è di colore marrone oliva e diventa più scura fino alla coda, il lato addominale appare pallido dal giallastro al verdastro - una vista affascinante. L'elefante aspro non è tossico e completamente innocuo per l'uomo, ma purtroppo la sua sopravvivenza è a rischio. Sa surface lisse et brillante est brun olive et s’assombrit jusqu’à la queue, le ventre apparaît pâle, jaunâtre ou verdâtre - une vue fascinante. Le poisson d’aspic est non toxique et totalement inoffensif pour l’homme, mais malheureusement menacé dans sa survie.
