The chapel of Notre-Dame at the cemetery (12th century and onwards), in Esparron de Verdon, was an abandoned ruin, overgrown with ivy and threatened to fall into the emptiness of the ravine that boiled it.
The project consisted of equipping it with a metal device on micropiles to allow the north wall supported by the stable to counterbalance the south wall, suspended and unstable.
The historic ruin has also been stabilized and made accessible, a wooded platform now leads to the ghost of the chapel’s choir, where you can immerse yourself in the forest that begins there... Three hackberries and three oaks continue to inhabit the building, which welcomes a contemplative audience.
To celebrate the beginning of the new life of the place, the architect of the project proposes three augmented conferences on the themes of the recovery of abandoned ruins for a regained use. He is accompanied by two comedians and a musician for the inauguration of the renewed ruin.
