Despised, misjudged, keen fighters and resistant to all tests... What if insects were the perfect allegory for b-boys and b-girls? Five insects, break dancers, dressed in costumes made partly from recycled or diverted materials, tell the story of the end of the world, the fight for survival and the beauty of the tiny. A 100% hip-hop piece choreographed by Léa Cazauran with voice-over by Aloïse Sauvage.
“What’s more repulsive than insects?” They are not particularly beautiful, [...] and their way of life is far from being a long, quiet river... They remind me of us, practitioners of the break: this dance born in a context of survival, in the heart of a violent socio-political universe. Tirelessly for over 40 years, we have tried to exist by all means. Who would have thought that hip-hop would become essential and global, that the break would arrive at the Olympics when we were dancing on cardboard? » Léa Cazauran
Lady Rocks is a project opening up 360° dance within plural and complementary spaces: creations, shows, battles, cultural actions, events.

Méprisés, méjugés, fins lutteurs et résistants à toutes épreuves… Et si les insectes étaient la parfaite allégorie des b-boys et b-girls ? Cinq insectes, danseurs de break, vêtus de costumes réalisés en partie à partir de matériaux recyclés ou détournés, racontent la fin du monde, la lutte pour la survie et la beauté du minuscule. Une pièce 100 % hip-hop chorégraphiée par Léa Cazauran sur la voix-off d’Aloïse Sauvage.
« Quoi de plus repoussant que les insectes ? Ils ne sont pas spécialement beaux, […] et leur mode de vie est loin d’être un long fleuve tranquille… Ils me font penser à nous, praticiens du break : cette danse née dans un contexte de survie, au coeur d’un univers socio-politique violent. Sans relâche depuis plus de 40 ans, nous essayons d’exister par tous les moyens. Qui aurait pu penser que le hip-hop deviendrait incontournable et mondial, que le break arriverait aux JO quand nous dansions sur des cartons ? » Léa Cazauran
Lady Rocks est un projet d’ouverture sur la danse à 360° au sein d’espaces pluriels et complémentaires : créations, shows, battles, actions culturelles, événements.
