Musée maritime et portuaire

In the heart of the Citadelle district, the Musée maritime et portuaire de Dunkerque (an association under the law of 1901) presents the history and maritime and port heritage of the "city of Jean Bart" through its permanent tour and temporary exhibitions. In front of the museum, moored to the Quai de la Citadelle, an extraordinary floating heritage completes the cultural offer of the establishment: the three-masted schooner Duchesse Anne and the fireboat Sandettié, both listed as historic monuments, the tug Entreprenant and the barge Guilde allow visitors to embark on a discovery of the world of sailors and boatmen. Finally, the Risban lighthouse, 2 km from the museum, offers a spectacular view of the area.
