The collections of the Museum of Modern Art
The Museum of Modern Art was born from the donation of nearly 2,000 works in 1976 by Pierre and Denise Lévy, a couple of Trojan industrialists and collectors. The painter André Derain and the Troy glassmaker Maurice Marinot, close friends of the Lévys, are widely represented, alongside great artists of modernity such as Courbet, Braque, Gris, Soutine, Modigliani, Dufresne, La Fresnaye, Buffet, Balthus or De Staël.
Reopened after a major renovation, the museum is unveiled in a first phase of prefiguration to be discovered on the ground floor and on the 2nd floor.
The museums of the City of Troyes are exceptionally free on Saturday 13 May from 10am to 1pm and from 2pm to 6pm and during the Night of Museums from 8pm to midnight.
