“Climate Project”
Exhibition of the work done by the students of 5th Euréka College (Pont-Sainte-Marie).
As part of a two-year partnership with the museums of Troyes, 142 students from 5th year of Euréka College worked during the 2022-2023 school year on the theme of climate, under the direction of their plastic arts teacher, Ludivine Desmarecaux.
First, the students studied committed works on the issue of global warming:
- “The Climate Bands” by Edward Hawkins (climatologist);
- “The Weather Project” and “Ice watch Paris” installations by contemporary artist Ólafur Elíasson;
- Some monumental works by street artist Blu.
After an exchange in class around these works, they undertook, alone or in group, the realization of their own productions committed to this issue. They were free in their creations (2 dimensions or 3 dimensions, choice of technique and style, etc.).
They then went to the Saint Loup Museum to discover and discuss, during a guided tour by the museums' cultural mediators, the question of museum scenography (or how to highlight the works) to best showcase their achievements for Museum Night.
Exhibition presented until 26 June The museums of the City of Troyes are exceptionally free on Saturday 13 May from 10am to 1pm and from 2pm to 6pm and during the Night of Museums from 8pm to midnight. Detailed program: www.musees-troyes.com
