Noise of Danger is an immersive performance and sound installation created by Brutus Labiche, fusing Swiss traditions with Afro-descendant influences. Inspired by Swiss cattle bells. The performance consists of portable sculptures that emit sounds when moved.
Noise of Danger is a symbolic parallel between perceptions of danger and the identities of people of foreign origin rooted in Switzerland. Through this performance, Brutus Labiche invites the audience to a gradual immersion in a cacophony of sound that reveals the complex layers of their cultures, identities and perceptions. The growing noise becomes a powerful metaphor for the invisible but essential presence and contributions of these communities in the Swiss landscape.
The performance will last 40 minutes, followed by a discussion with the artist.
Brutus Labiche, born in Butare, Rwanda in 1993, is a self-taught artist. After working as a model, art director and stylist, she turned her attention to visual art. Her work explores the experience of black women through various media, seeking to express deep and nuanced realities.
The performance lasts 40 minutes and will be followed by a discussion with the publics.

The performance is free, but reservation is mandatory.

MEG X CCA
The Centre Culturel Afropea (CCA) is an itinerant organisation that operates in the interstices of institutions, contributing to an Afro-diasporic perspective by programming interventions by artists, researchers and performers.
As part of its ‘carte blanche’ at MEG, the CCA is organising three events: a performance by artist Brutus Labiche on Sunday 20 October 2024, open to questions from the public and in dialogue with the MEG collections; two film screenings and a conversation with curator Greg de Cuir Jr on 10 November 2024 around the film ‘Les statues meurent aussi’ (Resnais, Marker); and, finally, a lecture by Trinity Mesimé Njume-Ebong and a Gilles Furtwängler performance questioning coloniality and whiteness on Saturday 7 December 2024.
