Offenbach/Bernstein - Escobecques
After Leonard Bernstein’s hundredth birthday in 2018, it is Jacques Offenbach’s turn to be celebrated for the 200th anniversary of his birth. The Regional Choir invites you to meet these two geniuses of music for an evening full of surprises: the most beautiful tunes of Offenbach, but also Candide of Bernstein, an invigorating operetta after the tale of Voltaire.

The Regional Choir of Hauts-de-France
Created in 1981, the Regional Choir Hauts-de-France offers a demanding and varied choral repertoire: from early music to contemporary music, opera, operetta, chamber music, masterpieces by Bach, Mozart, Brahms or Ravel, like Ohana, Cavanna or Tippett... If it is willingly displayed in the genre of the symphonic oratorio, the Choir knows how to give pride of place to vocal and secular chamber music, even to the lyrical repertoire. In 35 years, a repertoire of more than 200 works has been built. Under the direction of Jean Bacquet (†) and then Eric Deltour, the Choir gave more than 500 concerts that gathered more than 500,000 listeners. He performs alone, accompanied by piano, organ or a cappella, as well as with other groups such as the Orchestre National de Lille or La Grande Ecurie and the Chambre du Roy.
