A rocking chair sways in the center of the stage, a man turns around, apprehends him. In Colombia, it is the traditional armchair used daily by the whole family. «In my house, there were no chairs, only rocking chairs that were taken out in the evening in the street to settle down and watch people pass by» explains Edward Aleman. His home is Mompox in northern Colombia. And to tell the little village of his childhood and his story, nothing better for the acrobat artist than to transform this emblematic object into an apparatus. Alone on the set, Edward Aleman tells himself by the body and the words and makes his way of life upside down. If he called his show Anxiety – which means “hyperactivity” in Spanish – it is no coincidence. Worry is also the name given to the rocking chair in the nineteenth century in France... In this solo, this accessory becomes a partner with which he plays, on which he stands in an unstable state and seeks his point of balance.
