- The Little Suite was commissioned from Witold Lutoslawski by the Warsaw Radio in 1950. The composer takes up Polish folk melodies to make incredible orchestral textures. Nothing sad in this Tomb of Couperin imagined by Ravel in 1920. The composer pays tribute here to the great musician of the 18th century François Couperin. A work all in refinement 'à la française' and nostalgia. In 1829, Felix Mendelssohn visited Scotland. The wild landscapes of the Highlands will inspire him his Third Symphony. Sometimes dreamy and nostalgic, the work adopts at other times a heroic and fiery character.• Witold Lutoslawski (1913- 1994) - Petite Suite (chamber version) (12');• Maurice Ravel 1875- 1937) - The Tomb of Couperin (20') ;• Felix Mendelssohn (1809 - 1847) - Symphony No. 3 'Scottish' (40')The concert is the subject of a short presentation of the works.Distribution: Orchestre National de Lille (40 musicians)Management: Anna Sulkowska-Migon (1st Prize of the La Maestra 2022 competition)Duration : 1h45 with intermissionFrom 6 years_To go there:_

In 1829 bezocht Felix Mendelssohn Schotland.
