Carte blanche au MUba Eugène Leroy Lecture musicale Fakir Trio/ Yolanda Creighton/ Abir Chahine As part of the exhibition Peinture la nature. Impressionist landscapes of the Musée d'Orsay presented from March 16 to June 24, 2024 at MUba Eugène Leroy.
The garden is omnipresent in the Arab-Islamic imagination. Flowers, fountains or bigaradiers inspired their most beautiful texts to Arab poets. Everything is beautiful there. Moreover, in Arabic, garden and paradise share the same root and it is in the form of an extraordinary garden that the Islamic tradition figures paradise. In poetry, he sometimes evokes a paradise lost in the image of that of Al Andalus, sometimes the divine, love or even intoxication. Through a bouquet of poems gathered from anteislamic times to the present day, this musical reading enters into dialogue with the impressionist landscapes exhibited in the halls.
Poems set to music by Fakir Trio that weaves between them the Turkish, Moroccan, Balkan and jazz influences and spoken in Arabic in French by Yolanda Creighton and Abir Chahine.
