The program of this study day will be devoted to the exploration of the subjects crossing the work of the artist Saodat Ismailova.

The artist’s visual and sound research questions ancestral beliefs, the imprint of Soviet and Russian domination, the severity of the female condition, the central role of film and book archives. This day is organized in collaboration with the CEAC - Centre d'Étude des Arts Contemporains of the University of Lille. Continuous exhibition until 7pm.

- 12h | Lecture by Mélissa GIGNAC, lecturer in film studies at the University of Lille (CEAC), about the archives in the work of Saodat Ismailova

- 14h | Video art from Central Asia
This session, entrusted to the Kazakh curator Dilda RAMAZAN, brings together historical and recent video work from the Central Asia region. The program invites to explore the singularity of artistic gestures that inherit multiple stories: those of the Soviet Union and those of their own heritages and identities.
