It is to tell the story of the Great Era, a period of effervescence marked by galloping industrialization, and to stage a magnificent collection of carriages from the 19th century that the show-route "Le grand départ" was imagined. The visitor enters the stables and, through an astonishing play of mechanism, is projected in the summer of 1900. He is welcomed into an old cinema by Marcel, a projectionist, and, comfortably seated in period banquettes, he goes to meet Eugène and Antoinette Schneider, then owners of the château d'Apremont. Eugène Schneider, master of forges and great industrialist of his time, must go to Paris to inaugurate his own pavilion at the 1900 World’s Fair.

C’est pour raconter la Grande Époque, période d’effervescence marquée par l’industrialisation galopante, et pour mettre en scène une magnifique collection de calèches du XIXᵉ siècle que le parcours-spectacle « Le grand départ » a été imaginé. El visitante entra en los establos y, por un juego de mecanismo sorprendente, es proyectado en el verano de 1900. Es recibido en un viejo cine por Marcel, proyeccionista, y, cómodamente instalado en banquetes de época, sale al encuentro de Eugène y de Antoinette Schneider, entonces propietarios del castillo de Apremont.
