Saint-Pierre/ Journées du Patrimoine 2022 - Château DEPAZ
Free visit of the DEPAZ Castle
Recently renovated, the Château Depaz overlooks a magnificent 12 acre park with majestic, century-old trees.
On the Depaz estate, sugar canes derive their richness from the quality of the young soils made of ash from the eruption of 1902.
Their exceptional exposure on the slopes of Mount Pelée, sunny and swept by the trade winds, as well as the very filtered volcanic soil, encourage the accumulation of sugar canes.
In addition to the Distillery and the Château Depaz, visitors can admire the Wheel at Dawn, visit the Museum of Rum and at the end of the tour, if they wish to purchase the bottles that will have seduced them during the tasting.
What to know:
Occupied by the Depaz family until the mid-80s, Château Depaz today contributes to the prestige and fame of Depaz rums.
Inspired by the visionary Victor Depaz who built it from 1917 to 1922, Château Depaz is today the must-see in the Caribbean North, thanks to its exceptional setting at the foot of Mount Pelée
